💡
Back up your wallet before deleting it to avoid permanent loss. You can anytime restore your wallet by importing the seed phrase.

5b. Click on the Delete button

After you have entered your current wallet password, click on the Delete button to proceed to delete your wallet entirely from the Temple Wallet.

💡
Deleting your wallet in the Temple Wallet does NOT mean deleting your wallet from the blockchain. Your wallet will always be permanent on the blockchain, and it can NOT be deleted in ANY way.

BUT if you lose the seed phrase to your deleted wallet, you will be UNABLE to restore access to it.

Conclusion

Successfully removing a wallet account from your Temple Wallet interface streamlines your view and helps manage your digital assets more effectively. As this guide demonstrates, the process involves navigating through your account settings within the Temple Wallet Extension, selecting the specific wallet you wish to remove, and confirming the deletion after entering your password. This straightforward procedure applies whether you are managing Tezos accounts or accounts on EVM-compatible blockchains, reflecting Temple Wallet's versatile multichain capabilities.

However, it is absolutely critical to remember the distinction between removing a wallet from the interface and deleting it from the blockchain. Deleting a wallet within the Temple Wallet application does not erase the wallet's existence on the Tezos or EVM blockchain. Your wallet address and its transaction history remain permanently recorded on the respective distributed ledger.

The most crucial takeaway is the importance of your seed phrase. Before you delete a wallet from the Temple interface, you must ensure you have a secure backup of its corresponding seed phrase. This phrase is the only key to restoring access to that wallet later. If you remove a wallet from the interface and subsequently lose or forget its seed phrase, you will permanently lose access to that wallet and any funds it contains. Re-importing the wallet, whether on the current device or a new one, is impossible without the correct seed phrase.

Therefore, while removing a wallet from the Temple Wallet view is a useful organizational feature for managing your various Tezos and EVM addresses, always prioritize the security and backup of your seed phrases. Treat this removal step as tidying your local interface, not as an irreversible deletion from the blockchain itself. Use this feature wisely to maintain a clear overview of your active crypto wallets within the powerful, multichain Temple Wallet environment.
